WSET Level 3 – Here We Go!
This week, level 3 is beginning, and I am super excited! The person who inspired me to start going to school through WSET was L3 Certified, and I was so envious of the knowledge base that she had. To say that I will be where she was in just a matter of weeks is so wild to me, and I can’t wait to get there.
Level 3, I can already tell, is going to be a lot more in-depth than Level 2. I received my textbooks in the mail a few weeks ago, and just flipping through the pages, I can already see that this level is going to require many more hours of studying (and tasting!). Speaking of, I am supposed to be receiving bottles 1-12 of my wine kit this week, with bottles 13-24 coming in a few weeks.
I am still going back and forth on if Level 4 is something that I’d like to move forward with. The ~2 year commitment is a bit hard to swallow for me (pun intended), and I’m not sure if I need that level of knowledge for the things that I want to do moving forward. Thankfully, I’m in no rush to decide, so I’m planning to enjoy level 3 for now and see what comes of it.
To bring you back a bit, I am still waiting on my results from the Level 2 exam. I feel pretty good about the exam and am not worried about if I passed or not, however, I am certain that I did not get a 100% on this one like the last one. It was a challenging exam, and having a brand new puppy crying in the room next to me while I took the exam was not ideal for my concentration! Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to getting my results back soon and seeing how I did.
Excitingly, I did receive my Level 1 certificate and pin in the mail as well, which I am already hanging proudly on the wall in my office. I just need to find somewhere creative to display my pins as I get them, so if you have any ideas, I would love to hear them!
That’s all I have for now, but will have more updates to come as my class ramps up soon. As always, thanks for reading along!
Santé!
