My Wine Journey

From Vine to Vin – My New Adventure!

At this point, I would assume that most of you have seen on my social media accounts that I have created my own company, From Vine to Vin, LLC! I will be offering Sommelier services to local and national restaurants and wine bars, as well as offering both virtual and at-home wine tasting experiences.

I am extremely excited to get this business up and running and see where it can take me. I am working on all of the behind the scenes details now, such as getting my LLC set up (done!), insurance & legal requirements, software procurement, marketing, establishing financial accounts, and more. As much as some of this stuff can be quite tedious, I love the work and am super excited to see what will come of it.

As I mentioned on my Instagram, I will not be officially starting with the business until mid-April of 2023 due to a few things going on. I am finishing my Level 3 studies at WSET, with my exam in Napa in February, wrapping up my full-time contract as an Operations Project Manager at the end of March, and attending my sisters wedding in Costa Rica at the beginning of April.

Typically the winter season passes by very slowly for me with a lot of time for relaxation, but this year I am already extremely busy. Between family and friends weddings, studying about 15-20 hours a week, working full time, and having more weekend plans than we’re used to, it’s a busy time of year! I’m excited for Christmas coming up to get some time to rest and relax, but it’s back to the grind right after.

As for where I’m at in Level 3, I’m a bit behind, but catching up. I’m hoping by the end of January to be completely done with the textbook, note taking, map drawing, and tasting, so that by February, I can work on flashcards everyday and really get that memorization underway.

Building this company is such a dream come true, and I can’t wait to see all the things I have planned come to fruition. My creativity is soaring and I already have so many more things up my sleeve for the business that I plan to share once they are ready to go.

As for a personal life update, our sweet Murphy has been quite sick with a normal puppy illness for about the past month or so. My sister had to take him to the vet for us while my husband and I were in Scotland over Thanksgiving (and we’ve been back a few times since), but it does seem that this week he is finally on the mend…fingers crossed! Here’s the two of them ready for Christmas:

As I mentioned above, my husband and I were in Scotland with his family over Thanksgiving week. We had an awesome time with a couple days spent in London, and the majority of the trip spent in Edinburgh. I do plan to write up a blog post on our adventures under my travel section, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, here are a few pictures to peruse through.

That’s all for now. I hope you all have a great holiday season, and if you’re interested in checking out my wine offerings, hop over to my new website: www.fromvinetovin.com. I do have a holiday promo going on right now for up to 20% off my wine tasting packages, so book before 12/31/22 to take advantage of that! For more specific details regarding the sale, visit me on Instagram @FromVineToVin.

Until next time…Santé!
